| Colourshift - Need help with cookies | | 16th Jun 2011 - 09:08 | by jogan |
I am a LONG time addict of this game. So much so that I don’t let anyone delete my cookies so that I don’t lose my progress.
It has taken me a few years of playing this game to reach past level 600…
A house gust (not knowing) deleted ALL my cookies & now I am back to zero. THIS REALLY REALLY SUCKS!!!! The last time this happened to me I was at level 400 & I just had to start from the beginning.
So technically I should be past level “1000”. I had also finished all the achievements.
As this has happened to me 2 times before, this time I don’t want to start from scratch. I don’t want to start from level one. Is there any way to make changes to a cookie or something so that I can be at level 600 again? PLEASE HELP!!!!! |

Alternatively, since after level 200 or so the levels all have the same parameters, you can start a custom game with those parameters. I think it's size 20, colour and wrap enabled, 21 sources, 25 links and 30 dummies. |

You can always copy it and save it to stop it happening again! |

Although, it was WAY cool to track my level progress. And it took me a few years to get this far. I have been playing this game from the following link (LOVE it because there are no adds).

Once again I thank you very much.

| 17th Jun 2011 - 12:31 | by jogan | I downloaded SOLEDIT (freeware) & opened Cathelius-colourshift.sol
It defaults to what looks like the “number” tab (amongst others that seem like variable types, such as - Boolean, string, array, object, pointer, etc.)
So, this is what I see:
Tab: number
Name: evel (2 other chars, that I dont recgonize)
Value: 0
This value does not seem to change when I play levels. I tried to see if it does by playing up to level 6. Obviously, I am looking at the wrong parameter. And there are no others that I can click on.
Now I am completely lost.
PS – I have never programmed a cookie. My experience is limited to C++ & Visual C++ (more than 20 years ago...)
Could you just email me the “Cathelius-colourshift.sol” file with level 600, PLEASE?
If you don’t mind of course.....
THANKS! |

Since I am asking... (and you have not refused yet ;o))
Is it possible for you to set the parameters to the maximum allowed?
size 25 & 30 for the rest. WOW! How cool would that be...
Thanks from San Francisco & Mumbai....

| 17th Jun 2011 - 20:13 | by sneeze | Im not quite sure what you mean about setting it to the maximum allowed, but to be honest, I'm very unwilling to pick up the colourshift code without an exceptionally good reason - it's a couple of years out of date now, and a lot of my shared code has changed substantially!
As to the cookie editor, I'm not having much luck myself - I've tried a couple of tools, but none seem to be able to open my cookies properly. Not really sure there's that much help I can offer, but there might be some other tools that work. |
| 18th Jun 2011 - 06:04 | by jogan | I understand, thats cool. I really do appreciate your kindness & helpfulness thus far.
Cheers to you & thanks for this addicting game.
I shall continue to enjoy colourshift! |
